Silos can be difficult to inspect, particularly if they are as large and dusty as this one (note the blue sky showing through the hatch in the photo with the red oval). With a single hatch in the roof and the bottom inspection door covered by product, the silo presented a rather hostile environment that was not fit for human entry. Using our versatile and robust Elios drone we were able to conduct the inspection remotely, capturing details of not only visible structures but also the product stored inside. Moving the drone over the product surface confirmed a soft powdery consistency and no indication of hardening which would compromise its flowability.
